Luck? Energy? Aura? Karma?
First, let me say that I don't win things. Especially raffles. Well, I guess that could be because I never buy raffle tickets or lottery tickets. But the main point is that I simply don't randomly win things. This week has been a heavy networking week for me. Lots of events. Lots of meeting new people, making connections, looking for relationships that will eventually lead to business. (I can be reasonably good at these events but it takes a LOT of energy for me. I pull from all of my old acting skills in order to be effective.)
So this week, I won three different raffles.
Wow! Impressive! What are the odds?! Maybe I should go out and buy some sort of megamillion lottery ticket, right?
Hold the phone for just a sec. Let's do a brief inventory.
Raffle #1: I won two tickets to the Capitol Home and Garden Show. Could be fun. Could be interesting. I'll be in California during the show.
Raffle #2: I won a wine journal (not sure what that is) and two gift cards for wine tasting. I rarely drink alcohol, and strongly dislike wine.
Raffle #3: I won a gift box filled with various cheeses. Lots of it. Like a six month supply. I live alone, I'm on a diet, and to top that off I mistakenly left the box out overnight.
Now before you jump to conclusions, I'm not complaining. I'm not whining. I was thrilled each time my name was picked out of the hat. I feel lucky that I won.
I'm just wondering...what message does this send? I'm having a string of luck winning prizes that are inappropriate for me. Hmmmmm....

Maybe you should buy that lottery ticket. Cash is always appropriate, even after Labor Day.
actually, that's really cool that you won. i've only won one raffle in my entire life (I was a kid and I won a TV) and i'm pretty sure my brother rigged it so i can't hardly call myself lucky.
outside of the cheeses which have probably gone bad, perhaps you can give away the other two prizes and brighten someone's day! :)
I think I'd focus on the winning, not the prizes. I've won a lot of things in my life - most of which I would never buy or use - but it's fun to win. Three times in one week? You're definitely on a roll.
Just remember the moments when they announced your name and everyone turned to see who had won. That's a great feeling, no matter what the prize.
I never buy lottery tickets either, but maybe, just maybe, you should take a chance!
Surf that wave of luck, my dear! Live it up. Cheers!!
