How do you go from extending a weekend beach trip invitation one moment...to saying "I don't think I'm in a good place to date anyone" just a few days later????

Is this the "casual" guy mentioned a few posts ago? Forgive my unsolicited advice, but take it from a guy who has experience with the "casual" route... if a guy only wants "casual," there's not a whole lot of respect going on there, no matter what reasons are given. Take it for what it is and have some fun, if you'd like, but be kind to yourself and save your emotions, hopes, and expectations for someone who means it.
Well it's always refreshing to hear a guy's perspective, but no, this wasn't "casual guy". I actually gave up "casual guy" for *this* guy.
That's exactly the kind of thing that's supposed to get to you.
It wasn't two posts ago I thought you told us about lessons learned. Based on them, I'm sure you're going to be fine without "Dusty".
Ugh, so sorry, Aileen. You certainly deserve much, much better. I wish this dating/love/marriage stuff were easier. Why not take a trip to NYC?
I've got nothing. Smaller things than that get to me.
